At TTTech Industrial, we're constantly pushing the boundaries of innovation to support machine builders and system integrators on their IIoT journey. We understand the importance of user feedback in refining our solutions to meet the dynamic demands of today's industrial environments. With this commitment in mind, we're thrilled to announce the latest release of our cloud-managed edge computing platform, Nerve 2.8.0.

Expanded Hardware Compatibility and Security Measures with Debian Bookworm

With the transition from Debian Buster to Debian Bookworm, Nerve 2.8.0 offers expanded hardware compatibility and fortified security measures. This upgrade enables engineers to seamlessly integrate diverse components, fostering innovation and flexibility in system design while enhancing overall system security to counter evolving cyber threats.

Nerve Connection Manager 2.0.0: Streamlined User Experience

Nerve Connection Manager version 2.0.0 marks a significant milestone in user experience improvement. With this release, users bid farewell to frustrating encounters with antivirus software flags. Nerve Connection Manager 2.0.0 now operates seamlessly without triggering antivirus alerts, eliminating the need for cumbersome IT whitelisting procedures. Simply head over to the Nerve Software Center, download the newest version, and experience hassle-free deployment.

However, it's essential to note that while version 2.0.0 brings improved compatibility and security measures, it's not compatible with Management Systems lower than 2.8.0. Refer to the Compatibility Matrix for 2.8.0 for detailed information on compatibility specifications.

Introducing Audit and Activity Logs

In line with our commitment to enhancing functionality and usability, Nerve 2.8.0 introduces a significant addition: audit logs. Audit Logs provide a systematic and chronological record of events within the Management System, offering valuable insights into security, compliance, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring. Users can access a dedicated OpenSearch dashboard to monitor security-relevant events conveniently, ensuring enhanced system security and compliance.

Additionally, Activity Logs are a subset of Audit logs visible and directly incorporated into the Management System UI. Activity logs track workload activities on a Node, enabling users to monitor and troubleshoot workload activities effectively. Detailed log messages describing workload activity since deployment are accessible via the workload control screen, enhancing visibility and control over system operations.

With Nerve 2.8.0, we're dedicated to empowering our users with enhanced functionality, streamlined usability, and comprehensive monitoring capabilities. Explore these new features in detail here and unlock the full potential of your IIoT infrastructure with TTTech Industrial.

This version only includes base image installers for nodes, meaning that no hypervisor is included. Image installers for hypervisor images will come in version 2.8.1.
